Vacation Mode
Vacation Mode temporarily pauses your store so buyers cannot place new orders while you are away or unavailable. It is useful for taking time off, handling a backlog of existing orders, personal emergencies, or any period where you cannot take on new work.
How It Works
When Vacation Mode is enabled, buyers cannot place new orders and your Zinns show as unavailable. However your store and listings remain visible, existing orders continue and must still be completed, and buyers can still contact you via pre-sales messages.
Enabling Vacation Mode
Vacation Mode is found in Step 3 (Contact and Location) of the My Store wizard. Go to your Zinner Dashboard and click My Store in the left-hand navigation menu. Navigate to Step 3 where you will find the Vacation Mode toggle. Enable it, add your vacation message, and save.
Your store pauses immediately once saved.
Your Vacation Message
The vacation message is shown to buyers who visit your store or listings while you are away. Keep it professional, give an approximate return date, and thank buyers for their interest. You do not need to explain personal details — a simple message works best.
Example: "Thanks for visiting! I am currently taking a short break and will be back on [date]. Feel free to browse my listings and get in touch — I will respond as soon as I return."
Disabling Vacation Mode
When you are ready to return, go back to your Zinner Dashboard, click My Store, navigate to Step 3, and toggle Vacation Mode off. Your store becomes active again immediately.
Best Practices
Before enabling Vacation Mode, communicate with any buyers whose orders are in progress and set clear expectations about delivery. While away, check your messages occasionally if possible and do not leave active orders without updates. Extended periods on Vacation Mode may affect your store visibility, so use it for genuine breaks rather than as a long-term status.
Alternatives to Vacation Mode
If you want to slow down rather than stop completely, you have a few other options. You can increase the delivery times on your Zinns in the Zinn Creation Wizard to give yourself more time per order. You can set some Zinns to Draft in your dashboard to reduce your active listings while keeping others available. Or you can add a note to your Zinn descriptions and your My Store bio in Step 2 letting buyers know that you are currently at reduced capacity and delivery may take longer than usual.
Important
Vacation Mode does not affect existing orders — you are still responsible for delivering those on time. If you need an extension on an active order, contact the buyer directly through the order chat before the deadline.
