Purchase Notes are a simple but powerful way to communicate directly with customers after they buy your Zinn. This message appears on the purchase confirmation they receive, giving you a personal touchpoint at a key moment in the customer journey.

What is a Purchase Note?
A Purchase Note is a custom message you can add to any Zinn. When a customer purchases that Zinn, your note is automatically included in their order confirmation email.

Think of it as your personal message that accompanies every sale of that particular Zinn.

Where to Find the Purchase Note Option
Purchase Notes are added in Step 10 (Final Touches) of the Zinn Creation Wizard. This is the final step before publishing, where you review your Zinn, add a thank you note for buyers, and optionally add an external portfolio URL.

To
add or edit a Purchase Note on an existing Zinn, go to your Zinner Dashboard, find the Zinn you want to edit, and open it in the wizard. Navigate to Step 10 to find the Purchase Note field.

The field accepts plain text and HTML, so keep your formatting simple.

What Can You Use Purchase Notes For?
There are many ways to use this feature effectively.

Say Thank You. A simple thank you message goes a long way. Let customers know you appreciate their business and are excited to work with them.

Provide Support Details. Include your preferred contact method or support hours. Direct customers to the order chat in their account under the Orders tab for any questions about their order.

Share Next Steps. Explain what happens next. If you need information from the customer to get started, remind them here. If there is a waiting period, set expectations upfront.

Promote Your Other Zinns. Mention related services they might be interested in. If someone bought your logo design Zinn, they might also need business card design or social media graphics.

Include Important Instructions. Add any specific instructions related to that Zinn — preparation tips, things to have ready, or how to access deliverables.

Build Your Brand. Use a consistent sign-off or tagline that reinforces your brand identity across all your Zinns.

Offer a Discount Code. Reward customers with a discount on their next purchase to encourage repeat business and build loyalty.

Tips for Effective Purchase Notes
Keep it concise. Customers are scanning their confirmation email, not reading an essay. Get your key points across quickly.

Be
warm and professional. This is often your first direct communication with a new customer, so make a good impression.

Set expectations. If there are next steps or timeframes, mention them. Clear expectations lead to happy customers.

Make it relevant. Tailor the note to the specific Zinn. A specific message feels far more personal than a generic one.

Update regularly. If your process changes or you launch new Zinns to promote, go back into the wizard and update your Purchase Notes to reflect this.

Different Notes for Different Zinns
Each Zinn can have its own unique Purchase Note set in Step 10 of its wizard. This means you can have different messages for different service types, include specific instructions relevant to each Zinn, cross-promote related Zinns strategically, and tailor your tone to match each Zinn's audience.
